The United Kingdom has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately as the situation in the region continues to deteriorate.

The British government announced on Monday that it has prepared emergency plans for the ongoing conflict and potential evacuations.

The UK also emphasized that all parties involved in the conflict must pursue a ceasefire, following Israel’s airstrikes on targets in Lebanon.

The government stressed the need for all sides to step back from the brink of further escalation, according to a report from Reuters.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s unwavering support for Israel’s right to self-defense but stressed that stability and security in the region can only be restored through a ceasefire.
