The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has declared a price increase for gasoline and diesel, starting from Friday, October 18, 2024. This decision was made by the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products, which is tasked with reviewing and setting the prices of petroleum products.
The committee convened to address the need to secure petroleum products and stabilize market performance, guided by existing pricing mechanisms. This move aims to reduce the gap between the selling prices and the high production and import costs of these products. The following adjustments have been made to mitigate part of this gap and correct the prices of the subsequent petroleum products:
Gasoline 95 is now priced at 17 EGP per liter.
Gasoline 92 has been adjusted to 15.25 EGP per liter.
Gasoline 80 will be sold for 13.75 EGP per liter.
Diesel (Solar) and Kerosene are both set at 13.50 EGP per liter.
Mazut for other industries is priced at 9,500 EGP per ton.
Automotive LPG remains at 7 EGP per cubic meter.
The prices of mazut supplied for electricity and food industries have been kept stable.
This pricing adjustment comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to align domestic fuel prices with global oil market trends and economic conditions. The committee has postponed its next meeting for six months to monitor the impact of these changes.
