Lebanon Mobilises Army for Southern Deployment

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has emphasized the need to implement UN Resolution 1701 to help de-escalate the situation in southern Lebanon.

According to “Cairo News,” Mikati stated that Lebanon is “prepared to send the Lebanese army south of the Litani River to fully carry out its duties in coordination with peacekeeping forces.”

Mikati also highlighted efforts to provide shelter for displaced persons and called for increased support and assistance for the Lebanese people amidst the difficult circumstances the country is facing.

Additionally, he noted that the Speaker of Parliament has expressed support for the government’s decisions aimed at navigating this challenging period.
