Large forces of the Israeli army stormed the city of Jenin in the West Bank this Thursday morning, following the infiltration of special units into the city in the areas of Al-Dawar and the town, amid the eruption of violent clashes. The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported on Thursday morning, citing the Palestinian Ministry of Health, that a Palestinian was killed and two others were injured by the gunfire of Israeli army forces during their assault on the city of Jenin.
The report mentioned the killing of the young Palestinian, Mustafa Al-Kastoni (32 years old), as a result of injuries sustained by Israeli army fire to his head, chest, and abdomen, during the army’s invasion of Jenin in the West Bank. Additionally, a serious injury was inflicted on an employee of the Ministry of Health, who was struck by two bullets in the stomach and chest.
The agency also conveyed from local sources that Israeli army forces detonated Mustafa Al-Kastoni’s house while he was inside it, in the old town of Jenin, concurrently with the abduction of the youths Hani Al-Kastoni and Hassan Al-Husseini. The national and Islamic forces in Jenin declared a strike and mourning, calling on Palestinian citizens to participate in the funeral procession for Al-Kastoni this Thursday afternoon.
It should be noted that the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Wednesday, “in the strongest terms, the brutal and bloody invasions committed by Israeli occupation forces in Palestinian cities, towns, and camps.” The Palestinian Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement that “the crime of invading ‘Aqbat Jaber’ camp south of Jericho this morning is a war crime against humanity, added to the extrajudicial killings committed by the occupation forces against our people.”
The Palestinian Ministry did not stop at that, but also held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, clarifying that it “will pursue these crimes, along with previous crimes, with the International Criminal Court,” and demands it to break its silence, shoulder its responsibilities, and fulfill its obligations towards the assaults and crimes to which our people are subjected, ultimately leading to the prosecution and trial of Israeli war criminals.”
