During the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), a high-level delegation from the UAE engaged in productive discussions with Selwin Charles Hart, the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on Climate Action and Assistant Secretary-General for the Climate Action Team.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the forum, aimed to explore opportunities for joint cooperation and partnership in best practices related to government experience exchange, global climate action, and sustainable development.
This comes as the UAE prepares to host COP28, a significant global climate summit.
The UAE delegation took the opportunity to showcase the country’s impressive development success story and its commitment to achieving comprehensive and sustainable socio-economic growth while accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Various strategic initiatives in key development areas, including government operations, capacity building, and exchange of expertise and visions, were highlighted by the UAE delegation.
