Japan’s Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada welcomed Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
During the official reception, the national anthems of both countries were played, and a guard of honor was presented.
Following the reception, the two defense ministers held a meeting to review the relations between the two friendly nations and discuss bilateral cooperation in the military and defense fields.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts taken towards them. Furthermore, they addressed several topics of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Rwaili, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, Dr. Khaled bin Hussain Al-Bayari, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Japan, Naif bin Marzouq Al-Fahadi, and the Director-General of the Office of the Minister of Defense, Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
From the Japanese side, attendees included the Chief of Staff, General Kōji Yamazaki, Deputy Minister of Defense for International Affairs, Masami Ōka, Commissioner of the Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Agency (ATLA), Fokasawa Masakai, Director-General of Defense Policy, Kazuo Masuda, and Director-General of International Affairs, John Miura.
