Former US President Donald Trump is facing new legal challenges as federal prosecutors filed an expanded indictment on Thursday, accusing him of attempting to delete surveillance video footage at his Mar-a-Lago estate ahead of an FBI search.
The case, which centers around Trump’s handling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021, has seen additional criminal counts being brought against him, bringing the total charges to 37.
Alongside Trump, his personal aide Waltine Nauta and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos de Oliveira have also been implicated in the case.
The allegations further complicate the legal scrutiny surrounding Trump’s actions during his time in office.
