The Yemeni government’s army announced the death of a prominent military commander in clashes with Houthi militia fighters.
This incident was confirmed in a statement released by the army today, Friday.
The statement detailed that the province of Marib witnessed the funeral procession of Brigadier Nasser bin Ali Ayed, the assistant commander of the 125th Infantry Brigade.
Ayed was honored for his national duty, ultimately meeting the same fate as four of his heroic sons who had previously fallen in the battle to restore the state and end the coup staged by the Iran-backed Houthi group.
Brigadier Mohsen Al-Harmali, commander of the 125th Infantry Brigade, praised Ayed’s virtues and national sacrifices, describing him as a national symbol and a role model in the struggle and sacrifice for the defense of the nation.
The loss of Ayed represents a significant blow to the armed forces and the nation as a whole.
The army’s statement, however, did not delve into the details surrounding the circumstances of the military commander’s death. Additionally, there has been no comment from the Houthi side regarding this incident.
The Islamic State (ISIS) recently claimed responsibility for the twin explosions that rocked Iran’s Kerman province yesterday during a ceremony commemorating Qassem Soleimani, resulting in the death of 100 people and injuring dozens.
ISIS published a statement through its Telegram channels on Thursday, taking credit for the bombings that occurred in the Kerman region of southern Iran on the previous day.
In response to the incident, the United States Department of State emphasized that the United States had no involvement in the Iran explosions in any way and saw no reason to believe that Israel was connected to them.
