The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its support for United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 2720.
This resolution emphasizes the need for urgent measures to ensure the “immediate, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance” to Palestinians, as reported by SPA on Saturday.
Emphasizing the significance of the resolution, the OIC highlighted the necessity of its prompt implementation.
Through a recent statement, the OIC urged the global community, particularly the UN Security Council, to enforce Israel’s full compliance with the resolution.
This compliance is crucial to guarantee the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians, including media, medical, and humanitarian workers.
Additionally, the OIC emphasized the need to prevent Israel’s planned forced displacement of Palestinians.
Based in Jeddah, the OIC reiterated its call to halt the severe Israeli military aggression. It condemned the ongoing destruction, displacement, and acts of genocide faced by the Palestinian people across all Palestinian territories, with a particular focus on the hardships in the Gaza Strip.
