Al Ahly Club is eagerly awaiting the receipt of 2.5 million US dollars from FIFA as a reward for winning the bronze medal at the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. This comes after their victory over Urawa Reds of Japan with a score of 4-2 in the match for the third place in the tournament.
Al Ahly secured a prize worth 2.5 million dollars, equivalent to 77 million Egyptian pounds, after winning the bronze medal in Saudi Arabia. This is the fourth bronze medal for the Red Devils in the history of the FIFA Club World Cup, having previously achieved this feat in 2006, 2020, and 2021.
The management of Al Ahly Club has decided to revise the contract of Ahmed Nabil ‘Koka’, a rising star in the team, following his impressive performances recently with Al Ahly. His performances earned him a spot in the national team for the African Nations Championship starting on January 13 in Côte d’Ivoire, before being excluded due to injury.
Al Ahly officials have agreed to extend and modify Koka’s contract following his excellent play in the FIFA Club World Cup. The player has fulfilled his responsibilities and is considered one of the hard-working youth products of the club, having imposed himself to ascend to the first team and then join the national team.
Al Ahly ranks third among clubs in terms of appearances on the winners’ podium in the FIFA Club World Cup. Among the 42 clubs that have ascended the podium for medals in the tournament, Real Madrid tops the list with 5 medals, all gold, followed by Barcelona with 4 medals including 3 golds and a silver. Al Ahly has 4 bronze medals, followed by Bayern Munich and Corinthians with 2 gold medals each. Liverpool and Chelsea have a gold and a silver each, Internacional with a gold and a bronze, River Plate and Flamengo with a silver and a bronze each, and Monterrey with two bronze medals. Additionally, 31 other clubs have reached the podium with one medal each.
