The so-called “International Coalition,” led by the US Army, has deployed the largest military reinforcements this year to its unauthorized bases in eastern Syria, in response to a spike in targeting operations over recent weeks.
According to a “Sputnik” correspondent in eastern Syria, a convoy consisting of 30 trucks loaded with the latest heavy military equipment, including tanks, artillery, short-range missiles, and armoured personnel carriers, entered Syria’s Al-Hasakah province on Wednesday, September 11.
The convoy crossed into Syria through the unofficial Al-Waleed border crossing with Iraq, heading directly to the American coalition bases in the northeastern part of Al-Hasakah, specifically the oil-rich area of Rmelan (Kharab Al-Jeer base) and Al-Qasrk base in the Tal Bidar area to the north of the province.
The reporter noted that the reinforcements were not limited to ground equipment.
The Jibsa oil field directorate in the city of Al-Shaddadi, south of Al-Hasakah, also witnessed the landing of a giant American military cargo plane, coinciding with intensive flights of helicopters and drones loaded with military gear. Another plane landed at the Al-Qasrk base in Tal Bidar.
Taha Al-Ali, a political analyst in Al-Hasakah, commented to “Sputnik,” stating that this move is part of a comprehensive plan by the US occupation forces to prevent any potential threats, especially following the recent deployment of a military cargo plane loaded with troops and equipment to the Kharab Al-Jeer base.
This base had experienced a severe attack in recent weeks. The bolstering of American bases continues amidst ongoing Iranian threats of retaliation for the assassination of Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh.
Iraqi Defense Minister Thabit al-Abbasi revealed that the high-level military committees between the Iraqi and American sides have reached an agreement on the withdrawal of coalition forces over two years and transitioning the relationship into a sustainable security partnership.
