US officials speculated on Sunday that Iran may launch an attack on Israel tomorrow, Monday. They indicated that military officers are finalizing the plans for political approval.

According to the US channel “Al Hurra,” officials expect the Iranian response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, and Fouad Shukr, a leader of Hezbollah, to be retaliatory and similar in nature to its previous attack on Israel on April 13th, potentially even broader in scope.

They added, “General Michael Kurilla, commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East, arrived in the region yesterday, Saturday, as preparations continue for a possible Iranian attack on Israel in retaliation for the assassinations of Haniyeh and Shukr.”

Following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated. Hezbollah, supported by Iran, responded by launching multiple rockets into Israel. The U.S., anticipating potential further strikes by Iran, has increased its military presence in the region to protect Israel and ensure regional stability. Amid these tensions, U.S. President Joe Biden has expressed hope that Iran will stand down to avoid a broader regional conflict

Haniyeh, in Tehran for the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was killed in a special residence in northern Tehran early Wednesday by an aerial projectile. Hamas has vowed that Israel’s attacks “will not go unanswered,” while Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei has threatened “harsh punishment” for Haniyeh’s killing.
