In a recent statement, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy emphasized that achieving security, stability, and peace in the region hinges on a fair and sustainable resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

She advocated for a political process leading to a two-state solution, allowing for an independent Palestinian state to coexist peacefully with Israel under international agreements.

The UAE remains committed to providing urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza, driven by its historic support for the Palestinian people.

Al Hashimy highlighted that over the past ten months, the UAE has delivered 38,180 tons of emergency supplies to the Gaza Strip through various means, including eight ships, 1,243 trucks, and 334 airlifts, with 50 aerial drops included.

Looking ahead, the UAE plans to maintain its proactive role alongside the United Nations and international partners to enhance efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering.

Al Hashimy stressed that returning to the pre-October 7, 2023, conditions will not achieve the sustainable peace desired by both Palestinians and Israelis. Immediate steps must include a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all prisoners and hostages.

To establish stability and address the humanitarian crisis, Al Hashimy proposed the formation of a temporary international mission, led by a new Palestinian Prime Minister with high competence and credibility.

This mission should operate transparently and adhere to international standards, focusing on rebuilding Gaza, ensuring effective crisis response, and establishing a unified Palestinian government.

She also called on Israel, as the occupying power, to play its part in this international vision by complying with international law and human rights standards. The UAE stressed the need for Israel to lift the blockade on Gaza, cease settlement expansion and violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and allow the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities.

The UAE believes in the importance of collaborative efforts from regional and international partners to craft a future of peace and prosperity for Israelis, Palestinians, and all people in the region. Al Hashimy underscored the pivotal role of the United States in these efforts, both in Gaza’s recovery and in reviving peace prospects.

The UAE remains dedicated to its humanitarian support for the Palestinian people and stands ready to contribute to a sustainable resolution based on a two-state solution in partnership with regional and international stakeholders.
