A worldwide outage has affected the X platform (formerly known as Twitter), as reported by DownDetector.com, a website that monitors website and online service disruptions.

The outage began a few hours ago for some users on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Tens of thousands of users across several countries around the world reported an unexpected technical glitch on the X platform.

This issue became evident when tweets stopped appearing on users’ timelines. Upon opening the application, user accounts were visible, but tweets were not fully accessible.

The number of complaints on the site has been steadily increasing since 7:30 AM today until just a short while ago.

The platform’s management is actively working to resolve this issue, leveraging a dedicated technical team to monitor and swiftly address such problems as they are reported.

The X platform, is owned by American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, who recently acquired the global platform for a staggering $44 billion.

In the past year, Musk struck a $44 billion deal to take X private, immediately assuming ownership of the social media platform by ousting top executives.
