In the early hours of Friday, a Palestinian youth was killed and four others were injured in the Tulkarm refugee camp, located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, due to live ammunition fired by Israeli occupation forces.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health released a statement, of which “Washington Life” obtained a copy. The statement identified the martyred individual as Mahmoud Jihad Jarad, 23 years old, who succumbed to his chest injuries inflicted by Israeli forces’ gunfire. Additionally, four others were injured, with wounds in the abdomen, back, foot, and shoulder regions.
The ministry noted that the young Jarad was admitted to Thabet Thabet Government Hospital in a critically injured state. Sadly, his injuries proved fatal. Among the other injured, one is described to be in severe condition.
Local Palestinian media outlets reported that Israeli occupation forces deployed snipers around and within the camp’s vicinity, firing live ammunition extensively and launching tear gas canisters and sound bombs.
The occupied West Bank cities witness almost daily incursions by Israeli occupation forces. These intrusions often result in the detention, injury, and, in some cases, the death of Palestinians.
