In recent developments, an authoritative Lebanese security source has reported that an Israeli infantry force, comprising 21 soldiers, breached the technical border fence at “Khallet Al-Ghameeqa”, near the border town of Aytaroun.
This unit conducted a training operation lasting an hour between the fence and the “Blue Line”, though they did not cross it and subsequently returned to their base.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Lebanese Army highlighted, “Two Israeli warships violated Lebanese territorial waters opposite Ras Al-Naqoura, intruding by approximately 463 meters.”
These incidents are being actively monitored and are currently under investigation. Coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is ongoing to address these breaches and ensure adherence to international border agreements.
Israel threatened on Tuesday to “return Lebanon to the stone age” in any war against Hezbollah, following weeks of friction with the armed Iranian-backed group along the countries’ border.
“Do not make a mistake. We do not want a war. But we are prepared to protect our civilians, our soldiers and our sovereignty,” Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said in a statement, his remarks intended for Hezbollah.
