Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abiad has affirmed that the Lebanese government is actively lobbying the United Nations Security Council to pressure Israel to halt its assaults on Lebanon.
He has called on the international community to take responsibility and exert pressure to cease the firing from Gaza to Lebanon, aiming for diplomatic solutions to the conflict.
Speaking to CGTN on Wednesday, Al-Abiad noted that hospitals in southern Lebanon are operating at full capacity to accommodate hundreds of casualties resulting from Israeli attacks on the country, which have left hundreds dead and injured.
Due to the escalating aggression, the Lebanese government has issued appeals to allied and friendly nations for urgent medical supplies. Al-Abiad explained that Lebanon’s current stockpile of medical drugs and supplies would only last for four months.
