Palestinian media sources reported on Wednesday that an Israeli airstrike targeting a school and an orphanage in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 30 individuals.
According to the official Voice of Palestine radio, the airstrike hit a school and the Hope Institute for Orphans, both of which were sheltering displaced people in Gaza. The attack primarily struck the Al-Mashtal School in Al-Tuffah neighborhood and the Hope Institute in Al-Ramal neighborhood, resulting in approximately 17 injuries at the school.
Additional reports noted that 10 individuals were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Sawarha School, which was also sheltering displaced individuals in other areas west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the Strip.
The southern governorate witnessed the highest number of casualties, with over 30 people killed in Khan Younis. Bodies were recovered from the Manan, Al-Manara, and Al-Salam neighborhoods of southern Khan Younis following a sudden withdrawal of Israeli forces, which had penetrated these areas last night, causing significant destruction to residential neighborhoods and numerous injuries among the local and displaced populations.
Media sources also reported that 12 victims were retrieved from the Abu Taha family home in the Al-Manara neighborhood of Khan Younis.
