Two people were killed on Wednesday afternoon when Hezbollah launched 20 rockets from Lebanon targeting the evacuated Israeli border town of Kiryat Shmona.
The Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service reported that a man and a woman, both around 40 years old, were found critically injured and unconscious. They were declared dead shortly after, according to MDA CEO Eli Bin.
The rocket barrage also caused fires in several buildings in the town, with fire crews from five brigades working to extinguish the flames.
