The “Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve,” a part of the global coalition, expressed its support for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) while hinting at connections between tribes and “nefarious entities.”
According to Syria TV, the statement calls for the cessation of violence and the pursuit of a peaceful resolution in Deir ez-Zor, located in eastern Syria, by immediately halting the ongoing clashes in the province.
It highlights that recent acts of violence have destabilized the region, resulting in tragic and unnecessary loss of lives.
The statement urges SDF leaders to resist the influence of what it refers to as “nefarious actors,” who may offer rewards but ultimately bring suffering to the region’s people.
It warns of dire consequences if the clashes persist, as it could lead to the resurgence of the “ISIS” terrorist organization.
The statement reaffirms support for the SDF, urging all parties to cease fighting immediately and seek a peaceful solution that allows for a sustained defeat of ISIS.
Last Thursday, confidential sources reported that the international coalition requested a meeting with Arab tribes in Deir ez-Zor.
The sources indicated that the international coalition sought to convene a meeting with representatives and tribal leaders in Deir ez-Zor, including Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Hafil of the Al-Akidat tribe.
Clashes between tribal fighters and the SDF continue in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, with tribes advancing into areas under SDF control.
This development coincides with the SDF sending new military reinforcements to Raqqa and its outskirts.
On Saturday, Arab tribal fighters captured the Seriatel Hill in the village of Arab Hasan Kabir, as well as the villages of Mahmoudiya and Al-Muhsinli in the northern and eastern countryside of Manbij, after fierce battles with the Syrian Democratic Forces, according to local sources.
On Friday morning, tribal forces launched an attack on military positions belonging to the Syrian government and the SDF north of Manbij in the eastern Aleppo countryside.
They captured several locations before withdrawing due to Russian air support for the SDF and intense artillery shelling by government forces.
