Israeli airstrikes killed 14 people overnight in central and southern Gaza, according to reports.

One of the strikes hit a home in Gaza City, killing 11 people, including four children, the Associated Press reported. Another strike in Khan Younis hit a tent where displaced Palestinians were sheltering, Gaza’s Civil Defence said on Saturday.

Earlier this week, airstrikes claimed over 50 lives. On Wednesday, 34 people were killed when Israeli strikes hit two homes and a United Nations school-turned-shelter, Gaza health officials confirmed.

The UN refugee agency said the victims included six staff members, with the manager of the shelter among them. The agency stated, “No one is safe in Gaza. No one is spared.”

On Tuesday, 19 people died in an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza’s designated humanitarian zone, according to Hamas-run health officials.

Meanwhile, in Turkey, preparations began for the funeral of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old Turkish-American activist shot by Israeli forces in the West Bank on September 6. Israeli officials claimed her death was “unintentional,” but her family rejected this explanation, calling for a US investigation. Turkey has announced its own inquiry.

Over 40,000 people have died in Gaza since the war began, according to local health officials.
