An Israeli soldier was killed and 17 others were injured early Thursday in an ambush involving an explosive device and gunfire in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

The incident occurred when an Israeli military force was ambushed during a pre-dawn raid on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp.

The ambush resulted in the death of one Israeli soldier.

The attack began as an Israeli military bulldozer entered the camp, followed by military vehicles.

A video captured the moment an explosive device detonated under the bulldozer. According to Hebrew media, 17 soldiers were injured by two explosive devices set off in Jenin.

Earlier reports from Israeli media indicated that the forces were subjected to gunfire and an explosive device detonation during their raid in Jenin, with several soldiers reportedly injured.

Video footage circulating online showed the moment Israeli soldiers were evacuated after being injured by the explosive devices in Jenin.

Palestinian media sources reported that helicopters landed at the Jalameh checkpoint in the West Bank following the explosion of an explosive device in an armored personnel carrier in Jenin. The helicopters evacuated the wounded to hospitals.
