Medical sources reported on Monday that the death toll in Gaza has risen to 37,347 since the onset of the Israeli occupation’s aggression on October 7, as per a report by “Cairo News Channel.”
The same sources indicated that the number of injuries has surged to 85,372, with the majority being women and children.
They also mentioned that two massacres were committed by the occupation, resulting in the death of 10 Palestinians and injuring 73 others in the past 24 hours.
In response, Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, stated that the Israeli bombing of Gaza since last October has turned the impoverished, besieged area into “hell on earth.”
In his statements on Monday, he added that delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza’s residents, who are on the brink of starvation, is nearly impossible.
Griffiths pointed out that civilians and infrastructure in Gaza have suffered excessive damage, and there is politicization of aid amidst widespread hunger and disease.
He noted that humanitarian workers and UN personnel in Gaza have been killed in alarming numbers.
He also mentioned that weapons continue to flow to Israel from Washington and other countries despite the devastating impact of the war on Gaza’s civilians
