The US military has firmly denied claims that its pier was utilized during Israeli operations in Gaza that resulted in hundreds of casualties.
According to the US military, Israeli forces operated in the area south of the pier, dismissing any contrary allegations as false.
The temporary pier on Gaza’s coast is designated exclusively for humanitarian purposes, and the US has announced the resumption of humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, disrupted by a storm in late May.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the commencement of humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza’s shores, stating that approximately 492 metric tons of essential aid reached Gaza’s residents.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the death toll from the Israeli bombardment of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday rose to 274, with 698 others injured.
Palestinian medical sources indicated that rescue teams transported the dead and injured to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, which is now in a catastrophic state due to its inability to handle the large number of casualties.
The Israeli military conducted intense and heavy bombardments on various areas in central Gaza, including the west and east of the Nuseirat camp, for over two hours.
The Israeli army announced the successful rescue of four hostages from Gaza, all in good health. The rescued hostages were identified as Noa Argamani (26), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrei Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40).
The hostages were freed from two separate locations in Nuseirat, central Gaza, during a joint and complex operation conducted in broad daylight, coordinated with the police.
