Clashes resumed today, Friday, in the eastern districts of El Fasher, Sudan, between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), marked by rising smoke columns.

This resurgence in violence continues the ongoing conflict that has gripped Sudan, reflecting the power struggles that have destabilized the region.

The conflict in Sudan has been primarily driven by tensions between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

These clashes have frequently erupted over control of territories and political power, with El Fasher being one of the hotspots for such violent encounters.

The city, situated in a region with a complex history of conflict and displacement, often witnesses such violent outbreaks that exacerbate the humanitarian situation.
