Azzedine Oussedik, the Director-General of the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL), held talks with Yuri Borisov, the Director of the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), and agreed to enhance their cooperation in the space sector.
The two officials introduced their respective space programs and exchanged views on the modalities and aspects of bilateral cooperation.
In a press statement, Oussedik pointed out that they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of space technology and elevate it to the level of the aspirations of the two countries.
On his part, Borisov affirmed that the talks with his Algerian counterpart were “very fruitful,” especially as they are “a continuation of the state visit made by President Tebboune to Moscow.”
He added: “The Algerian space program Horizons 2040 will allow us to open a new page for practical cooperation between Algeria and Russia in the space field.”
Earlier in mid-June, Algeria and Russia signed a framework agreement aimed at defining the basic concepts of bilateral relations in the field of space activities.
