The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia announced the arrival of 1,659,837 pilgrims from abroad for this year’s Hajj season (1444 Hijri), via all Kingdom’s air, land, and sea ports by the end of Sunday, 7th of Dhul Hijjah 1444 Hijri, corresponding to June 25, 2023.
According to the Directorate, the total number of pilgrims arriving from outside Saudi Arabia through airports reached 1,592,199, among which 242,272 pilgrims benefited from the “Makkah Route” initiative.
The number of arrivals through land ports was reported to be 60,807, while seaports saw the arrival of 6,831 pilgrims. The General Directorate of Passports reaffirmed its commitment to facilitate the entrance procedures for the guests of Rahman (pilgrims) by leveraging all its resources.
The support extended to its platforms at international airports, land, and seaports, equipped with the latest technical devices operated by qualified human cadres proficient in various languages.
