The UAE’s Ministry of Defence’s Joint Operations Command has announced the successful execution of the 32nd “Birds of Goodness” operation, where 87 tonnes of humanitarian assistance and Eid clothing were air-dropped over northern Gaza.
The operation involved five aircraft: two C17s from the UAE Air Force, along with two C295s and one C130 from the Egyptian Air Force.
The cargo dropped included vital food supplies and special Eid packages for families, filled with clothing, toys, sweets, and other items intended for family members of all ages.
The aim was to bring relief and joy to the people of Gaza during the Eid Al Fitr celebrations, especially in hard-to-reach areas of northern Gaza.
Since the inception of the “Birds of Goodness” initiative, a total of 2025 tonnes of food and relief materials have been delivered.
Overall, the UAE has contributed more than 2395 tonnes of aid to northern Gaza, combining both ground shipments through the Kerem Shalom crossing and air-dropped supplies.
This humanitarian effort is part of the “Chivalrous Knight 3” operation, which is dedicated to aiding the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The Israeli authorities permitted the entry of food aid through the northern crossing into Gaza, marking the first instance of such assistance since the onset of the war on the sector on October 7th.
Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli military, confirmed on Friday the delivery of several trucks loaded with food supplies into Gaza through the northern crossing, following a thorough inspection by the Israeli military.
Adraee mentioned, “This is part of efforts to increase the pathways for humanitarian aid into the sector, specifically its northern part.”
