70-Year-Old Woman Killed by Military Vehicle in Greece

A tragic incident occurred in Oropos, Greece, where a 70-year-old woman lost her life after being dragged by a passing military vehicle. The unfortunate accident took place early on Sunday morning as a convoy of heavy vehicles was en route to the port for boarding a ship, part of the Parmenia exercise.

According to reports, the elderly woman attempted to cross the road at the junction of Athens Avenue 15 with Megalou Alexandrou Street. In the midst of the military convoy, one of the vehicles, moving slowly at a speed of 20 kilometers, dragged the woman, causing serious injuries.

Despite being rushed to Evangelismos Hospital, the 70-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries. The convoy, part of a military exercise, was preceded by the police, and the incident unfolded as the woman tried to cross the road in the path of one of the military vehicles.

The tragic accident has saddened the community, highlighting the need for heightened safety measures during such exercises to prevent similar incidents in the future.
