Lebanon’s Health Ministry confirmed that at least 558 people have been killed and 1,835 injured following a series of deadly strikes launched by Israel against Hezbollah. The strikes, which have devastated the region, included 50 children and 94 women among the dead, according to health minister Firass Abiad.
Four paramedics were killed, and another 16 paramedics and firefighters were wounded in the latest attacks.
Hezbollah claimed Israel had also dropped leaflets containing a “very dangerous” barcode across the Bekaa Valley, alleging the code could extract information from phones if scanned. The Israeli military has yet to respond to the claims.
Meanwhile, as tensions escalate in the Middle East, British Defence Secretary John Healey is set to return to London to chair a COBRA meeting, while thousands of residents have fled southern Lebanon, jamming the highway from Sidon to Beirut.
