More than fifty people from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights were injured on Wednesday during confrontations with Israeli forces in the village of Masada and the Al-Hafayer area.
The regions are sites where Israeli forces plan to erect wind turbines.
The Syrian News Agency, “SANA”, reported that the residents, moved by their love for their land and their connection to it, approached the area openly and were compelled to use rugged pathways to prevent Israeli machinery from continuing the land excavation.
However, Israeli forces brought significant reinforcements, employed drones for aerial surveillance, and encircled the residents. From the moment of their arrival, the forces fired bullets and launched toxic gas bombs, leading to the injury of dozens, some critically. Israeli forces also blocked ambulances from reaching the scene and detained 10 young men.
Sedki Al-Makt, the Dean of the released Syrian prisoners, affirmed that the wind turbine plan is categorically rejected, stating that its true intention is to seize thousands of dunums of agricultural land. “This scheme will not pass, no matter the sacrifices,” he emphasized. “The people of Golan are steadfast and resilient until the last breath of every man, elder, woman, and child. They will not be displaced from this land.”
