Jordanian King Abdullah II warned on Wednesday that the ongoing conflict threatens to keep the region in turmoil, emphasising the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon as a crucial step toward peace.
During a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who is visiting Jordan as part of a regional tour, King Abdullah underscored the importance of de-escalating tensions in the region. The Jordanian Royal Court released a statement in which the King expressed Jordan’s commitment to working with partner countries to restore stability and create a political solution for the Palestinian issue.
The King also highlighted the importance of enhancing the humanitarian response in Gaza and ensuring the continuous flow of aid to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
