The United States has dispatched military and logistical reinforcements to its bases in the YPG/PKK-held Hasakah province in northern Syria, marking a notable uptick in its military activities in the region.
According to local sources speaking to Anadolu Agency, two convoys of military vehicles entered Hasakah on Tuesday via the al-Walid border crossing with Iraq.
The convoys, which contained around 100 vehicles, then made their way to the American military bases in the cities of Shaddadi, Rmeilan, and Tal Baidar in the province, as per eyewitness reports.
The convoys included armored vehicles, oil tankers, artillery equipment, as well as large amounts of ammunition.
This development comes amid recent intensified movements by the US forces in northeastern Syria, including bolstering military reinforcements at the bases belonging to the international coalition.
This move is seen as an indication of Washington’s commitment to maintaining its presence in the region, despite ongoing discussions about US policy in Syria.
