The White House has refuted a report claiming that the US and Iran were close to reaching an interim nuclear deal.
A spokesperson from the White House National Security Council dismissed the report as false and misleading.
The article, published on the Middle East Eye website, had cited anonymous sources stating that Iran and the US were nearing a temporary agreement involving sanctions relief in exchange for reductions in Iranian uranium enrichment.
The report also claimed that both sides had agreed on a temporary deal to present to their respective higher authorities. However, the White House spokesperson stated that any reports of an interim deal were untrue.
