Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Zardari conveyed his sincere condolences and sympathy to Sheikh Abdullah on the passing of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praying for the deceased to be granted mercy and eternal rest in paradise.
In response, Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude for the heartfelt sentiments offered by the Pakistani Foreign Affairs Minister.
The two diplomats engaged in discussions about the strong UAE-Pakistan relations and strategic partnership, emphasizing their commitment to further strengthening ties across all sectors to serve the mutual interests of both nations and their people.
The meeting also addressed various areas of cooperation, including economic, trade, and developmental fields. Climate issues were among the topics discussed, especially with the UAE gearing up to host the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Expo City Dubai later this year.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan extended best wishes for the success of COP28 in Dubai and expressed hope for a transformative shift in global climate action.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding historical bonds between the UAE and Pakistan and their shared dedication to collaboration and progress in the face of global challenges.
