The Iranian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed on Monday its commitment to pursuing the diplomatic path concerning the nuclear agreement with Western nations and expressed readiness to engage in talks.
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, addressed Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iranian Nuclear Deal.
Kanaani stated that the continuation of negotiations to lift sanctions is not solely based on Iran’s confidence in the US.
He emphasized that the comprehensive joint action plan was initially designed to be signed, and it could have been a result of US’s commitment to this plan, which could serve as a basis for relative confidence.
The spokesman underscored that Iran is currently following the diplomatic track and engaging in negotiations in line with its national interests and the specific provisions of the comprehensive joint action plan aimed at lifting the sanctions.
He further stressed that all parties involved in the agreement, including the US, must responsibly and seriously return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which is the official name of the Iranian nuclear deal.
By doing so, they can collectively work towards addressing the various aspects of the agreement and upholding its objectives.
