Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh upon an invitation by his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah.
Mikdad will take part in the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Arab States and the Pacific Islands Countries, which kicked off on Sunday at the expert level.
Upon arrival, the Syrian minister was welcomed by senior officials of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mekdad’s two-day visit marks his third one to Saudi Arabia within a span of three months. His first visit took place in April when he accompanied President Bashar al-Assad to Jeddah for the Arab summit.
This comes shortly after Saudi Arabia and Syria resumed the work of diplomatic missions in both countries following Damascus’ return to the Arab League.
