Syria condemned the Israeli airstrike on Damascus that killed seven people, including children and women, and called for immediate measures to deter Israel from continuing its “criminal approach.”
The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that the attack, which occurred on Tuesday evening, involved three missiles launched from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights targeting a residential building in the densely populated Mazzeh neighborhood in Damascus.
The initial death toll included seven civilians, with 11 others injured, and significant damage to private property in the surrounding area.
The ministry’s statement described the attack as a gross violation of international law and part of Israel’s ongoing aggressive actions against the region’s countries and their populations. Syria strongly condemned the “brutal crime” against unarmed civilians, linking it to what it termed the genocidal practices of the Israeli state against Palestinians and Lebanese.
The statement called for urgent measures to deter Israel from perpetuating its policies of “spreading death, bloodshed, and chaos in the region” and warned that such actions could lead to a catastrophic confrontation.
