During a meeting in Riyadh on Thursday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan urged efforts towards addressing the situation in Gaza, in discussions with Anne Claire Legendre, the Middle East and North Africa advisor to the French President.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two sides reviewed Saudi-French relations and ways to enhance and develop them across various sectors.
Earlier, in a virtual address on Tuesday at the 14th Gulf Research Meeting in Cambridge, UK, Prince Faisal emphasized the urgent need for a viable and sovereign Palestinian state.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening the existing international system as a bulwark against chaos and conflicts, and as a framework for peaceful cooperation among nations, stressing its critical role amidst global challenges.
The Saudi Foreign Minister reiterated the commitment to principles of international law and peaceful conflict resolution during his remarks at the conference.
He underscored the urgent need for the establishment of a viable and sovereign Palestinian state recognized by all, pointing out that the ongoing violence and bloodshed in Gaza serve as a stark reminder of the high humanitarian cost of conflict and the pressing need for a lasting solution.
