Poland has announced plans to deploy 500 police officers to its border with Belarus, according to Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski on Sunday.
In a tweet, Kaminski stated, “Due to the tense situation on the border with Belarus, we have decided to strengthen our forces and deploy 500 Polish police officers from the protection and counter-terrorism units.” He further added, “They will join the existing five thousand border guard personnel and two thousand soldiers securing these borders.”

The move comes as Poland seeks to address the escalating challenges posed by the influx of migrants crossing the Belarusian border. The situation has strained relations between Poland and Belarus, with both countries accusing each other of facilitating illegal border crossings.

The reinforcement of security forces aims to enhance border control and ensure the safety and security of Poland’s borders. It is part of a broader effort by Poland to manage the ongoing migration crisis and safeguard its territorial integrity.

Poland’s decision to increase police presence on the Belarus border underscores its commitment to maintaining law and order while effectively managing migration flows. The deployment of additional personnel demonstrates the country’s proactive approach in addressing border security concerns.
