In a humanitarian gesture, the United Arab Emirates welcomed the first group of Palestinian children and their families, as part of an initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. This program aims to treat 1000 Palestinian children from Gaza, who are in dire need of medical attention for severe injuries, burns, and cancer.
The flight, arriving from Al-Arish Airport in Egypt to Abu Dhabi, marks the beginning of this compassionate endeavor. Maha Barakat, Assistant Minister of Health, assured that UAE’s medical and health teams are fully prepared to provide these children and their families with comprehensive care and specialized medical services according to international standards.
The initiative is a continuation of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support Gaza. In addition to this program, the UAE has provided $20 million in humanitarian aid and established a field hospital as part of “Operation Gallant Knight 3.” This operation further underscores the UAE’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, especially the children who represent a significant portion of Gaza’s population.
The UAE’s aid efforts include the dispatch of 51 flights carrying 1,400 tons of food, health supplies, and shelter materials, in collaboration with international organizations like the World Food Programme.
This initiative exemplifies the UAE’s historic commitment to the Palestinian cause and its unwavering support for the most vulnerable groups, reaffirming its role as a key player in regional humanitarian efforts.
