Walid Al-Khuraiji, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, stated on Saturday that Palestine is witnessing “tragic events and brutal violations against unarmed civilians” due to the ongoing escalation of Israeli military operations.
Speaking at the Manama Dialogue 2023 forum, he emphasized that “the continued war in Gaza and its prolongation leads to an unjustifiable humanitarian disaster and threatens to drag the region into broader conflicts, undermining regional security and peace prospects.”
Al-Khuraiji further noted that Saudi Arabia would continue to mobilize efforts for the immediate release of hostages and detainees and to revive fair and comprehensive peace efforts. He also reiterated the kingdom’s commitment to rallying efforts for an immediate ceasefire and lifting the siege on Gaza.
In a similar vein, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, speaking at the same event, labeled Israel’s war in Gaza as “blatant aggression,” stating that nothing could justify the war. He expressed skepticism about Israel’s stated objective of destroying Hamas and reaffirmed Jordan’s stance against the displacement of Palestinians, terming it a “war crime” and a “direct threat to our national security.”
