The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, called on Monday for an extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This extension aims to allow the entry of more humanitarian aid and the release of a greater number of hostages.
According to the Al-Sharq News website, Stoltenberg told reporters, “I call for the extension of the ceasefire. This will allow (the entry of) more aid needed by the people of Gaza and the release of more hostages” held in the sector.
The ceasefire, which entered its fourth and final day on Monday, is the first in the fighting that erupted more than seven weeks ago.
