Argentine football star Lionel Messi narrowly avoided a potential accident in Miami when his car allegedly ran a red light and entered a busy intersection.

Despite being escorted by Fort Lauderdale police, Messi’s vehicle crossed the intersection, but other drivers were quick to react and slowed down to prevent a potential collision.

It remains unclear whether Messi was personally driving the car at the time of the incident.

Currently in the United States, Messi has been spending time in the Miami area. Following this close call, it is expected that he and his team will be more vigilant and observant of traffic signals in the future.

In a separate sighting, Messi was spotted shopping with his children at a Publix in South Beach, where he was seen filling his cart with various items.
