The Ministry of Interior reported on the social media platform X that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, specifically the Department for the Protection of Public Morals and Combating Human Trafficking, apprehended a network comprising three women of different nationalities.
The network allegedly facilitated prostitution through online accounts in exchange for money. The suspects have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.
The Kuwaiti authorities did not disclose details regarding the nationalities of the suspects and their methods of operation.
Kuwait has recently intensified security campaigns against drugs, prostitution rings, and other crimes, which the Gulf state deems as “negative phenomena.”
In May, the Ministry of Interior announced that investigators in some police stations across various provinces would be working round the clock to combat these issues.
