Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s security, the safety of its citizens, and its institutions.

He also emphasized Jordan’s firm stance against any aggression on Lebanon’s sovereignty.

During a phone call on Tuesday with Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, Safadi expressed deep concerns over the potential repercussions of any Israeli escalation against Lebanon on regional security and stability.

He called for concerted efforts to de-escalate tensions and protect the region from the risk of sliding into a broader conflict.

Safadi underscored the importance of adhering to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

Safadi highlighted that the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza poses a significant threat to the entire region, emphasizing the need for an effective international movement to halt the aggression and compel Israel to respect international law and UN resolutions.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Bou Habib expressed gratitude for Jordan’s historic support for Lebanon, emphasizing its importance for Lebanon’s security and stability.

The phone call between the Jordanian and Lebanese foreign ministers comes amidst heightened tensions in the Middle East, with ongoing conflicts in Gaza and concerns over potential escalations between Israel and Lebanon.

Jordan’s call for adherence to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which was established to resolve the 2006 conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, reflects the region’s delicate balance and the need for international efforts to maintain peace and stability.
