Jordan has successfully secured the release of two of its citizens, Musleh Al-Oudat and Hussein Al-Naimat, who were detained by Israel following a shooting incident at the King Hussein Bridge (Allenby Crossing) that resulted in the deaths of three Israelis on September 8.
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry confirmed their safe return to the Kingdom. Sufyan Al-Qudah, a spokesperson for the ministry, stated, “Since the incident, the ministry has been monitoring the situation of the two citizens and coordinated with relevant Jordanian authorities to ensure their swift return.”
Al-Qudah added that both individuals “have already entered Jordanian territory, are in good health, and have returned to their families.”
Earlier on Sunday, an Israeli court announced the release of Al-Oudat and Al-Naimat, who were arrested following the attack at the Allenby Crossing.
Earlier in September, the border crossing between Jordan and the occupied West Bank witnessed a shooting carried out by a Jordanian named Maher Al-Jazi, which led to the death of three Israeli security guards.
Israeli forces stormed the Al Jazeera office in Ramallah, located in the West Bank, early on Sunday, ordering its closure for 45 days under a military directive. The move came as part of escalating tensions in the region.
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli soldiers informed the office’s director, Walid Al-Omari, of a judicial order mandating the closure of the news channel’s office.
Following the raid, Israeli troops forced the news team out of the building and confiscated the office’s equipment.
