The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the allocation of €16 million to Libya and Niger as part of initiatives aimed at combating human trafficking and handling migration flows.
The High Council of State believed that developing illegal immigrant countries is the “radical solution” to the problem, and other than that are “inhumane, temporary fabricated solutions.”
According to a statement issued by the Italian Ministry, the financial support was distributed at the rate of €8.5 million for three projects in Libya and €7.5 million for three projects in Niger.
These projects aim to train local authorities to increase their ability to manage the migration phenomenon in accordance with human rights protection standards.
They also seek to train courses for migrants and host communities as well as “implementing voluntary return operations for migrants.”
In the same vein, the statement highlighted the implementation of activities to support the school system in Libya, “which will enable the creation of new educational opportunities for migrants and the communities that host them.”
