In response to an incident involving a shot fired from southern Lebanon, Israel has initiated artillery strikes in the region, according to an official statement.

The statement emphasized that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had undertaken preparatory measures for such scenarios, asserting their commitment to operating in all regions and at any necessary time to safeguard Israeli civilians.

Israeli media outlets have confirmed the interception of a Lebanese Hezbollah drone that crossed the border, near the city of Safed in northern Israel.

Tensions in the area have escalated recently, with Hezbollah claiming responsibility for a series of bombings targeting Israeli sites in the occupied Shebaa Farms region.

In a statement released by Hezbollah, the group attributed the attacks to the “Imad Mughniyeh” group and identified specific targeted sites, including Al-Radar, Zabdin, and Weisat Al-Alam.

The cross-border incidents highlight the ongoing challenges in the region and the potential for further escalations amid longstanding tensions.

The situation remains fluid, with both sides closely monitoring developments.
