In the latest update from the Israeli army, a military spokesperson revealed that approximately 8,000 Palestinian fighters have been killed in the current conflict in Gaza.

The spokesperson cited information gathered from targeted strikes, battlefield assessments, and interrogations of captives as the basis for this figure.

Overnight, Israel conducted airstrikes in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically targeting areas in Jabilia.

Residents and Palestinian media reported ongoing fighting throughout Sunday morning.

Both Gaza health authorities and the Israeli military confirmed an increasing death toll as a result of the continued hostilities.

Israel asserts that it has achieved nearly complete operational control over northern Gaza and is making preparations to extend its ground offensive against Hamas militants to other regions.

Despite these claims, residents of Jabilia reported sustained aerial bombardment and shelling from Israeli tanks, which reportedly advanced further into the town on Saturday.
